September 2024, I had the absolute privilege of working on one of the most vibrant and joyful weddings of the year: Laura and Rob’s big day at the stunning Kingscote Barn in the heart of the Cotswolds. It was a wedding that celebrated everything I adore about floristry—colour, creativity, and working with an incredible team of suppliers to bring a couple’s vision to life.
This wedding was particularly special as it meant I got to revisit my own wedding venue as a supplier rather than a previous Bride & work alongside one of my own suppliers from my wedding in 2021. A real full circle moment for me.
A Burst of Colour and Sunflowers Galore
Laura had a clear vision for her wedding day: a celebration full of colour and joy, with her absolute favourite flower, the sunflower, taking centre stage. From the moment she described her wedding vision, I couldn’t wait to get started. Sunflowers bring such warmth and happiness, and combining them with a kaleidoscope of vibrant blooms allowed me to create arrangements that truly reflected Laura and Rob’s bright and cheerful relationship.
The bouquets were a riot of colour, featuring my favourite Sonja sunflowers paired with summery pops of pinks, purples, and oranges. For the ceremony, I created two milk churns bursting with zest and vibrancy, framing the couple beautifully as they said their vows along with 90 odd bud vases decorating the windowsills, later to be repurposed for the wedding breakfast and filling the ceremony rows with colourful chair ends to guide guests eyes down. The reception followed suit, with long trestle tables adorned with the colourful bud vases, the chair posies placed into mason jars and those churn arrangements that added a refreshed and lively welcome back into the room.

An Amazing Team of Suppliers
One of the things that made Laura and Rob’s wedding so special was the team of talented suppliers I had the pleasure of working alongside. The incredibly talented Gemma Gaskins Photography captured the vibrancy and details perfectly, while Kirsten from The Little Wedding Helper worked her styling magic, tying every element together seamlessly. (Remember above when I said I got to work with one of my own suppliers, that's Kirsten! An absolute dreamboat of a woman and a complete asset to any wedding!) With Charlotte Carlton Smith on make-up making sure Laura looked jaw dropping with her flawless hair and makeup skills. It’s always a dream to work with such passionate professionals who bring their all to make a couple’s day unforgettable.

Why I Love Working with Colour
As a florist, there’s something so exciting about working with a palette that’s bold and full of personality. Laura and Rob’s wedding was one of the weddings I’d been most looking forward to this year because it allowed me to fully embrace my love for colour. Flowers have this incredible ability to evoke emotions and set the tone for a celebration, and when colour is at the forefront, it creates such a joyful and uplifting atmosphere. Seeing the smiles on Laura and Rob’s faces as they took it all in was the ultimate reward.
Grateful and Inspired
Laura and Rob’s wedding reminded me why I love what I do so much. It’s not just about arranging flowers; it’s about being part of a couple’s story and helping to make their dreams a reality. This day will stay with me for a long time, not only for its beauty but for the joy and love that radiated from everyone involved.
To Laura and Rob, thank you for trusting me to be part of your incredible day. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness—may your lives together be as vibrant and full of love as your wedding day!
